Hello work week: here’s what we hope to be wearing…
When it comes to office style, tapered black pants and stilettos are the go-to outfit basics. By starting with this neutral foundation you can accessorize in a way that shows your unique style ♥
Hello weekend: here’s what we hope to be wearing…
Arria necklace meet Arria cardigan! Looking forward to a chill weekend that includes some book time with this recommended read ♥
At Isla Found, we never cease to be inspired by the varying design aesthetics found across the globe and relish the opportunity each year to pursue this design exploration through our jewelry collections. This year, we’ve also taken a little trip back in time to the sumptuous 19th century Etruscan Revival era, which emerged following the discovery of ancient jewelry in tombs outside of Rome.
We have delighted in approaching the neoclassical designs of this revival era jewelry with our west-coast minimalist style to create a collection that reflects Isla Found’s subtle elegance.
With a classical vase shape and inner palm-leaf detailing, Arria is an elaborate neoclassical Etruscan design that elegantly captures the essence of jewelry hailing from this ancient Italian era.
Amphora is an inspired mix of historical design elements, pairing Etruscan vase-shaped (amphora) pendants with an exquisite grey faceted moonstone, which is a gem that has been used in jewelry since ancient times.
Caro is Isla Found’s own amoret…a little love knot for your sweetheart ♥
A sumptuous design that reflects the opulence of Victorian era revival jewelry, Cicely embraces a faceted grey moonstone, which is a gem that has been used in jewelry since ancient times.
As popularized by Victorian era jewellers, this elegant diamond drop shimmers with a faceted pyrite orb.
The first of two designs that embrace the language of flowers…send a message of love, thanks, sympathy, or a simple ‘hello.’
The second of two designs that embrace the language of flowers…send a message of love, thanks, sympathy, or a simple ‘hello.’
Our show stopping Roma design captures the embellished essence of Etruscan breastplate designs en vogue in the 19th century.
A shape that has been explored since the dawn of civilization, Tarin’s crescent form is accented by Etruscan inspired amphora drop pendants to create a beautifully balanced piece.
With asymmetrical faceted pyrite orbs, Tera is Isla Found’s homage to the Marcasite jewelry designs that have made use of this same reflective mineral since times of ancient civilization.
Continuing our appreciation for time-honoured forms, Vela reflects our subtly elegant approach to the neoclassical setting sun design.
Lastly, to round out this year’s collection we’ve also added to our wedding designs with four new pieces, and have new hoops and studs for our basics collection as well!
A testament to our deep connection to the natural world as well as our love of clean contemporary design aesthetic, we are so pleased to release our 2015 design collection. While these pieces are rooted in a blend of organic and geometric inspiration, they are also designs to celebrate our expression of femininity. A femininity defined by the quiet confidence that comes with knowing who you are and having a little fun showing it!
VESTA A design inspired by the fascinating hexagon that is instinctively produced in nature, yet requires mathematical configuring for humans to create. Vesta embraces the beauty of symmetry…with understated elegance.
HERA Though inspired by a geometric pattern, a subtle softening of the lines in this design creates an inherently organic feel. This shape shifting nature means Hera is a true high/low design – wear it with a tee or a frock with equal aplomb.
ROCHE Our Roche collection is the most lovely collision of geometry, femininity and organic beauty. There is asymmetry in the tassels, movement in the fringe, and a raw earthy beauty in the gemstones. Worn with a tee or a frock, Roche designs are perfect high/low pieces.
Meet Lotus…our newest design is just in time to celebrate the love in your life. While the lotus flower is mythologized as a symbol of rebirth and the sun, for us the essence of this most perfect splendid blossom is transformation: change as a response to love & love as a cause of change. We can’t think of a better way to say I LOVE YOU.
You can choose from 14kt. gold or sterling silver plating and either purple or green jade gemstones.
Happy New Year! As 2014 rolls in it’s inevitable that we sit back and reflect on the year passed – and what a year we had. For us 2013 will be remembered as a year of immense growth, both personally and professionally. It was a year of pushing the limits and seeing just how many checkmarks we could make on those never ending lists. There were triumphs – our new partnership, developing our beloved Isla Found, a new website, designing our first collection, participating in some fantastic local events, and embracing new clients. And there were trials – did we mention that new website(!)? But we can safely say there were more celebrations than tears, and we may have even gotten a rep for our frequent celebrations – deliveries that actually arrived on time, a print job that went well, a particularly rewarding team meeting – it’s the little victories that count, right?
And while we are sad to see one of our partners embracing a new career direction this year (we’ll miss you Toni!), we are so excited for the promise of a whole new year of goals to set, ideas to realize, creativity to explore and of course victories to celebrate!
Cheers to another year of opportunity…

T’is the season of hustling & bustling, eating & sharing, giving & thanking, and…volunteering! Out there right now are community-minded folk filling cupboards, stuffing stockings, collecting warm clothing, and providing cheerful company. Some of these initiatives touch a single family, some reach whole cities, others spread their reach across the country, and still others support global charitable needs – and we are so inspired by each and every one of these volunteer-driven efforts.
At Isla Found we have a special place in our hearts for a local charity called Nourish Charitable Foundation Society. This is a local non-profit we helped co-found in 2011 to support women in their decision to live a life free from violence. We do this by providing hampers of healthy, non-perishable food items to women and their children who are leaving local transition houses, which are safe havens for women and children escaping domestic abuse. When these courageous women leave the security of the transition house to start anew, their moves are often compounded by additional challenges of finding affordable childcare, transportation, and employment. Our hope is that assisting them in stocking their kitchens with healthy basics will relieve some of this initial burden. facebook.com/nourishsociety
In support of Nourish Society, we are donating proceeds from the sale of our Neve necklace and earring designs this month and we want it to be a generous donation! A well-loved design, Neve has the exquisite beauty of a fluttering snowflake, and an elegant delicacy for the final touch on that holiday outfit! You can link to our Neve designs from our Holiday Gift Guide here.
Hello…so glad you found us! Holy smokes has it been a whirlwind last few months around here. But look at this, our first blog post on our shiny new website and we couldn’t be more excited. We started this journey back in the fall of 2012 when Roshni invited Toni and I to offer a fresh perspective on sugarlime, a small jewelry company she’d owned since 2009. But it didn’t take more than a few brainstorming sessions to see that the energy between the three of us wouldn’t be contained in a simple change of perspective. So we harnessed that energy to tackle a more adventurous approach that saw us revision, rename and rebrand to create Isla Found!
Throughout this transition we have continued to sell some of our favourite sugarlime designs under our new name, but we are now nearly bursting with excitement over the impending launch of our premiere design collection exclusively by Isla Found.
You can expect a globally inspired mix of contemporary geometrics, natural elements, vintage classics, a little whimsy and a lot of style packed into this inaugural collection! So without further ado here is a tiny sneak peak at what has been inspiring our designs so far…
We can’t wait to start sharing exciting news with you here!
